Why am I taken to the instructions after pressing START in a game? I ALREADY know how to play! There should be an option to skip the instructions after pressing play!

As I said in https://www.novelgames.com/en/forums/quit-button.2727 , after pressing START in a game you get the option to skip the instructions by pressing START on the instructions screen, which will result in starting the game.
