(Opening scene: Grainy black and white footage of a man in a ridiculously oversized suit, attempting to levitate a rubber chicken with intense concentration)
Narrator (Morgan Freeman impression): The year was 1958. America was gripped by the Red Scare, rock 'n' roll was shaking its hips, and a little-known stage actor named Bartholomew "Barty" Buttercup was about to shake the very foundations of reality… with his bum.
(Cut to a sepia-toned photograph of a very serious-looking Barty Buttercup in tights and a cape, labeled “The Amazing Floating Buttercup”.)
Narrator: Barty believed he possessed the power of levitation, a gift he attributed to a childhood encounter with a rogue batch of space muffins. His early attempts, however, were less than graceful.
(Montage of increasingly absurd levitation attempts: Barty strapped to balloons, Barty in a harness yanked upwards by stagehands, Barty bouncing off a trampoline in slow motion, culminating in Barty getting wedged in a chandelier.)
Interviewer (high-pitched, nasal voice): Mr. Buttercup, some critics have called your act "derivative," even "farcical." How do you respond?
Barty Buttercup (in a thick, theatrical voice): Farcical?! My dear boy, they simply lack the vision to comprehend the sheer metaphysical artistry of my posterior propulsion!
(Cut to a clip of a 50s game show where Barty is attempting to levitate over a tank of sharks. He sinks immediately.)
Narrator: Despite his setbacks, Barty remained undeterred. He poured all his savings into a top-secret project: the "Butt Booster 5000," a complex contraption involving bellows, bicycle pumps, and a modified vacuum cleaner.
(Cut to a diagram of the Butt Booster 5000. It's ludicrously complex and makes no scientific sense.)
Expert Historian (wearing thick glasses and a tweed jacket): The Butt Booster 5000 was a testament to human ingenuity, or perhaps, human folly. It's debatable whether it ever actually functioned, but it certainly made a lot of noise.
(Cut back to Barty, strapped into the Butt Booster 5000. It sputters, smokes, and launches him… directly into a wall. The wall crumbles.)
Barty (dusting himself off): Eureka!
