You take the highest amount of stars anyone has ever gotten in each game and take the sum of it.

It appears that all game mastery leaderboard is added, and it's added into each game individually. But then you have leaderboards for "Action" and "Puzzle" and "Action Puzzle" where it's unknown how many stars are the maximum there.

There should also be an option to sort games by the mastery level
